Conditions of Participation in the Competition

1. The competition titled “Refugees & IDPs” is open to students who are actively studying in associate , undergraduate or graduate faculties, programs and institutes at Istanbul Arel University.
2. Each participant can participate in the competition individually and with a maximum of 2 (two) poster
3. The poster works will be A3 vertical (29.7 x 42.0 cm) and/or A3 horizontal (42.0 x 29.7 cm). Posters made outside the aforementioned size will not be taken into consideration.
4. Posters shall be prepared in at least 300 dpi resolution and in CMYK and JPEG
5. The works must be in Turkish or Turkish / English.
6. Participants must upload their posters on the https://afisyarisma.arel.edu.tr portal and fill in the participation information completely.
7. While the works of the participants are evaluated by the competition jury, their identity information will be evaluated confidentially with their nicknames. In this context, the participants are required to fill in the afisyarisma_katilimciformu.docx file completely and upload it with their works to the relevant area in the portal.
8. In the competition, the works that are found worthy of being ranked evaluated by the  Art Board will be announced online on the website https://afisyarisma.arel.edu.tr at the date and time announced above.
9. Participants should print their work in color in A3 sizes as CMYK and physically submit the work to Arel USAM (1st floor, room 141-1).
10. The prize won for works that are not physically delivered will be considered invalid. The participant is also responsible for that the works to be sent by mail do not reach the relevant date.
11. The logo of “Istanbul Arel University” and the phrase “Refugees & IDPs” will definitely appear on the poster works. Participants can obtain the original logo of Istanbul Arel University by accessing https://afisyarisma.arel.edu.tr
12. The works to be sent must not have been previously published and exhibited in any media.
13. All participants will be given a “Certificate of Participation”.
14. Certificate of appreciation with Rector’s signature will be given to two students whose work has been ranked in the competition and who have received an honorable mention.
15. Participants selected by the jury in the competition were selected by Istanbul Arel University will be given a notarized gift voucher.

First prize: Plaque and 2,500 TL

Second prize: Plaque and 1,500 TL

Third prize: Plaque and 1,000 TL

Honorable Mention:  Plaque

16. The works to participate in the competition must be original and must not violate the legal rights of third parties, especially their intellectual rights.
17. Any claim of copyright infringement arising from third parties on the work is the responsibility of the participant.
18. The participant is personally responsible for the accuracy of all information submitted within the scope of this competition. The legal responsibility that may arise due to this information belongs to the participant.
19. Participants who want to participate in the exhibition will not be charged any fee.
20. Participants are responsible for ensuring that the relevant specifications and application conditions are met.
21. As detailed in the preliminary consent letter, all visual, audio, written and digital media broadcasting rights and all other related rights of the works submitted within the scope of the competition belong to Istanbul Arel University. The works can be published by Istanbul Arel University or shared electronically and used in other ways.
22. Works that do not meet the specified criteria and uploaded without editing in the desired format will not be accepted by the organizing committee.
23. Posters that do not comply with the competition conditions and are found to be sent with false or incomplete statements will not be taken into consideration. Even if the work is deemed worthy of the prize, if it is later determined that it does not comply with the competition conditions, the prize is requested back from the participant.
24. The award ceremony will be held on the date announced above for the students who participate in the competition and are entitled to receive a degree, and the participants will be sent an e-catalog and participation certificate online, consisting of artwork images and related texts.
25. Istanbul Arel University, the competition organizing committee and the jury do not accept any legal responsibility for the content of the works submitted to the competition.
26. In the event that an unforeseen situation arises in the general or special conditions of the competition or in any process of the competition, Istanbul Arel University reserves the right to make changes in the provisions of the general and special conditions exclusively.
27. The participants confirms and undertakes that they are the owner of all intellectual property rights on the work, that they have all necessary rights regarding the presentation of this work and the transfer of intellectual property rights related to the work, and that they does not violate the intellectual property rights (copyright, patent, trademark, etc.) of any third party, that they do not violate the privacy rights and publicity of any person living or dead with the publication of this work, that the content does not contain any elements that will constitute a crime according to the law and that it does not fall within the scope of personal information violation.
